Globally distributed, locally organized events
October 4–12, 2018
Organizer: Prof. Charles Schweik (UMass Amherst School of Public Policy and School of Earth and Sustainability)
We mobilized Commons scholars and practitioners all over the world to put on their own local events! These events varied in topic and function, driven by individual organizer interests and contexts, and took place during the period of October 4–12th, 2018.
Examples of local events included:
-
Teach-ins on commons-related subjects
-
Talks delivered by local scholars or commons practitioners on commons-related topics
-
Local mini-conferences, local workshops on commons practice or activism
-
Development of local events to produce, give, and record a talk that will be submitted to IASC's Virtual Conference (November 12–30th)
-
Or simply sessions to participate collectively in one or more of the noon-time webinars
